Some years ago (like 15), my mom hurt her left knee falling down some stairs and landing on concrete. Since then, her knee cap has been in 3 pieces. Throw in some arthritis, and she has to hobble around. For about 5 years now doctors have been discussing knee replacement with my mom. First, she was too young for it, as fake knees apparently only last like 10 to 20 years. Then, it was a matter of cost and not having good insurance. Finally, it was agreed on that it would be done. So the next question became time. Well there was our wedding, then unemployment, then moving, and then switching insurance. So, at long last, my mom had her knee replaced April 26
th, the Monday after our graduation. She had a total knee replacement, and I am happy to report she is doing fine! Thank goodness! Now she gets to look forward to having her right knee replaced due to arthritis…
