After Keeley's birthday, Karly headed back to Utah to finish her job and Grandma LeOla went with her to go to a family reunion in southern Utah. Devin and I took the opportunity to drive them to Sea-Tac and then go the the Seattle Aquarium. We went there on our honeymoon, and thought it would be fun to go back.
After looking for parking for what seemed like forever, we went. I love animals! It was so fun to see all the seals, otters, fish, birds (especially the diving birds, though the puffins were being lame so we watched the other ones), etc. We even saw some scuba divers in the tanks. We also went back to see the octopus that scared me our first time around. Still creepy but a little less so. Did you know they camouflage themselves when they're sleeping? This one was all white/grayish because that's the color of the rock it was up against. Also, they are very territorial and will fight, so this aquarium usually only has one of their octopi in the tank at a time. Otherwise, they have to separate it with a glass barrier so the male & female won't fight. At the end of our trip, we went to the gift shop and bought Guss. Guss is the octopus stuffed animal we found on our honeymoon but decided not to buy. As we had already named him, we agreed that we would have to go back at some point and bring him home with us. And so we did.
P.S. There is a 19% tax on parking in Seattle!!! We paid $11 for like 1.5 to 2 hours of parking.
