Devin's Last Hurrah

While I was hosting Sam’s baby shower, Devin and Jeremy went on a camping trip to southern Utah. Devin really wanted to go one last time before we left, and there wasn’t a good time for me to go with him; so he took his other best friend.

On the first day, they drove down to Boulder, UT and set up camp. They went fishing at a local power plant pond and caught their limit of fish, 5 a piece. Some of these fish became their dinner, along with some potatoes and green peppers. They had s’mores and sat around their fire reminiscing and burning textbooks.

The next day was free fishing day in Utah so they went fishing again, this time in Lower Bounds. Apparently it was quite a drive to get there. They caught their limits again, and the fish were much bigger. While driving back out of Lower Bounds, our car overheated.

Over the course of their entire 3+ hour journey home, they had to keep stopping and putting antifreeze and/or water in or on our poor car. And apparently, the hood almost decapitated Jeremy because they couldn’t find the thing to prop it up. Meanwhile, I am hanging out with Sam and we are thinking we might seriously have to go pick them up in their car and leave our car in the middle of nowhere and I’m raging at the idea that we just put almost $600 into this car not even a week ago and it might be dead. Fortunately, this was not the case and they made it home safe and sound; and the only thing wrong with our car was the radiator cap had fallen apart. The place we had taken our car just days earlier was kind enough to fix this for free.
